CHECK OUT THE STORY BEHIND THE VIDEO IN THE VILLAGE VOICE
Carrie Ashley Hill is a singer-songwriter who hails from Texas and has called Brooklyn, New York home for many years but wrote her first song from a much different place, literally stranded in Trinidad, Colorado.
"Hill's love-weary voice recalls breathy country legends like Emmylou Harris and the resolve of Steve Nicks." -The Village Voice "Hantingly gorgeous, with delicacy and a quiet self-assuredness, Hill's material feels lived in." -JoyofViolentMovement
Her debut ep Me et All, released August 2013, was comprised of these first songs and Viva Radio blog called it, "classic Americana, with arrangements that walk the line between dirgy and dreamy."
2014, she released the single Found You, a collaboration with fiance and writing partner Jeff Berrall of Caveman. The pair recently returned to the studio with Sam Hopkins (Caveman), Matt Clark (xWhite Rabbits) and Dan Iead (Cass McCombs) to work on a full length album and another single feathering a cover off of Gene Clark's Gypsy Angel Demos. A little indie-folk, a little cosmic-country, a little psych.
